The portal series represents a spiritual exploration of universal themes such as evolution of the soul, and of loss, searching, longing, grief, hope and peace. My purpose in creating the series is to express, in visual form, the universality of these themes.
infinity

The symbol ∞ is used in a place where a number would normally go, and so one might assume that ∞ is a special number like π (pi). But ∞ is different. Infinity is not a number. It is a mathematical concept related to numbers.

pondering infinity

Infinity refers to something without any limit, and is a concept relevant in a number of fields, predominantly mathematics and physics. The English word infinity derives from Latin infinitas, which can be translated as “unboundedness”, or “endless.”
What makes ∞ different is this: ‘there is no number greater than infinity’. You can write the concept in a lot of different ways, but here’s one way: 1+∞ = ∞.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
